Challenge

During the Winter Olympics in 2018 their website was due to provide service to 28 countries in 17 languages covering 102 events in 15 sporting disciplines. The website schedule needed to process and publish every change in each language and country variation as close to real time as possible to ensure viewers did not miss out on any content.

Solution

Our solution was a cloud hosted metadata processing platform, receiving information from a central source and then processing and monitored changes on each variation of the Eurosport website. The platform we built was able to process over 1.5million records in the 3 weeks of the game with zero downtime or interruptions.

Impact

Our solution ensured realtime presentation of data to a globally accessed EPG in multiple languages. The complex whitelisting and blacklisting logic ensured accuracy and the resulting solution served access to thousands of hours of programming.
