Challenge

Local TV were looking for a solution to simplify their content distribution workflows yet still provide a comprehensive content management solution to provide ingest, management and delivery of videos, images and metadata to and from third parties and their own TV and social media channels. The introduction of the solution had to ensure there was zero downtime in services and minimise impact on day to day operations.

Solution

To meet the needs of Local TV, Spicy Mango deployed Digistore, a SaaS media management platform that allows third party suppliers to provide content in a variety of formats where Digistore then aggregates, transforms the content if required and publishes this to downstream outlets. This allows for different content variations to be provided to broadcast, OTT or social media channels and partners. Digistore is cloud-native, highly available and scales dynamically to meet the needs of growing content volumes and workload.

Impact

The deployed solution has significantly simplified and automated the content workflow for Local TV. Content is now received in multiple formats and is automatically processed depending on source and destination outlet. This has freed up staff time to deal with more complex tasks that cannot be so easily automated and lays the foundation for growth since the platform is highly scalable and flexible to support future workflow requirements.
