Channel 4 partners with Spicy Mango and FX Digital on streaming service design refresh
London, UK, 25 November 2025:
Channel 4 has appointed Spicy Mango and FX Digital to support a major redesign of the Channel 4 streaming service. Channel 4 will continue to own the overall product vision, strategy and roadmap, with Spicy Mango and FX Digital jointly providing specialist support to shape the digital design across web, mobile and big screen devices.
Working under Channel 4’s product direction, the joint team will focus on elevating the end to end user experience, from content discovery and navigation through to playback journeys and account features. The engagement will cover user centred design, evolution of the design system, and scalable experience patterns that ensure a consistent experience across the Channel 4 website, mobile apps and Connected TV platforms.
Spicy Mango and FX Digital will operate as a single, blended design team across all platforms. Spicy Mango will contribute deep OTT product, UX and platform experience to keep the work grounded in technical, operational and commercial reality. FX Digital will bring its Connected TV heritage and interaction design expertise to inform patterns that perform just as well on the biggest screen in the home as they do on smaller screens. Together they will co create journeys, components and design standards that work coherently across devices.
The collaboration will be delivered through a structured discovery and design process that aligns stakeholders around clear experience principles, validates ideas with users, and produces implementation ready artefacts for Channel 4’s internal and external delivery partners. The aim is to deliver a cohesive, future ready experience that reflects Channel 4’s brand, supports new product opportunities and deepens audience engagement wherever viewers choose to watch.
About Channel 4
Channel 4 is free-to-air and freely available to all of the UK. We have the UK’s biggest free streaming service, plus a network of six television channels.
Since Channel 4 was created in 1982, it has been at the centre of national conversations and a catalyst for the creation of a world-beating production sector in the UK.
Our purpose is to create change through entertainment. We do this by representing unheard voices, challenging with purpose and reinventing entertainment.
Our unique model – commercially-funded but publicly-owned – means that we’re able to offer independent and distinctive, universal content reflecting the interests of different communities across the UK.
As a publisher-broadcaster, Channel 4 commissions UK content from the independent production sector and currently works with around 300 creative companies across the UK every year.
